Bollywood Siblings Who Are Not Glamour-struck

A career in Bollywood might be a dream come true for many. More often than not, the siblings of Bollywood stars tread the same path as their successful didis and bhaiyyas. However, there are always exceptions.

We look at the siblings, of some B-town celebs, who pursued other careers.

Amitabh Bachchan - Ajitabh Bachchan

Amitabh Bachchan has made a mark in his field, in a way that no one has. However, his brother Ajitabh Bachchan has stayed miles away from Bollywood. He is a businessman. The two share a warm relationship. Ajitabh and his wife Ramola Bachchan frequently talk about the man behind the megastar.

Deepika Padukone - Anisha Padukone

Prakash Padukone’s celeb status seems to have rubbed off on both his daughters. Yes, Deepika Padukone is one of the biggest stars of Bollywood today. But mind you, her sister Anisha is no less a celeb. The 24-year old is an accomplished golfer and is currently ranked #9 in India. Needless to say, she is more interested in her golfing clubs than Bollywood scripts.

Akshay Kumar - Alka Bhatia

It is well-known that Akshay Kumar is possessive about his family. One family member he is fiercely possessive about is his sister, Alka. She may be media shy but is just as dedicated and aggressive when it comes to her career. Alka runs a successful spa in Mumbai.

Priyanka Chopra - Siddharth Chopra

Priyanka Chopra is extremely close to her brother, Siddharth Chopra. While didi is a force to reckon with in front of the camera, Siddharth has decided to carve a niche for himself away from the arc lights, in the hospitality industry. The youngster recently graduated from a college in Switzerland and wasted no time in pursuing his dream. He opened a lounge in Pune last year. And yes, didi Priyanka was there to support him.

John Abraham - Alan Abraham

John Abraham made his Bollywood debut with Jism in 2002 and has become a fairly successful actor-producer in the last 13 years. Despite Johns strong foothold in the industry, his brother Alan harbours no ambitions of following suit. A successful interior decorator in his own right, Alan is happy designing the cribs of Bollywood A-listers. In fact, John has gone on record to say that his brother was offered a French film once but was not interested. He added, “He was also offered a film in Bollywood but he ran away.”
